8. Your races for 2010: Still sorting this out- looking at McDonald Forest 50k, Peterson Ridge Rumble, 3 Days of Syllamo, Where’s Waldo 100k, plus some hundreds- maybe San Diego 100 or Bighorn 100 for June and Angeles Crest 100 if I don’t do Waldo??
9. Goal(s) for 2010: Run the Grand Canyon RTRTR and around Mount Rainier again. Focus on some hundred milers. Stay injury free and have fun!
10. Favorite Movie: I really enjoyed Slumdog Millionaire this year, but I don’t really have a favorite.
11. Favorite TV show: The Office
12. Favorite music: Country
13. Hobbies (other than running): Camping, hiking
14. Favorite Quote: “…nothing takes the place of persistence….” Calvin Coolidge
15. Weekly mileage: average about 60-80, higher when training for a hundred
16. Most memorable race performance: Western States 100, my first 100. Ran the final 30 miles with bags of ice duct taped to my knees and needed an IV at the finish. Not memorable in a “fun” way.
17. Favorite food: Stir fry
18. Favorite Race: Three Days of Syllamo and Bighorn 100
19. I can’t hit the trails without my: Pearl Izumi Fly jacket
20. Role Models: I admire many people, but I love how tough Jamie Donaldson races.
21. Best running advice you were given: My friend Todd has a wonderful perspective on running and races. He seems to enjoy every minutes he is on the trails. Before Bighorn 100 this year, he reminded me to just feel lucky that I was able to do something like run 100 miles, and to enjoy the experience. Although it is not always easy to do, especially in hundreds, I do try to think of his advice and just feel lucky to be running.
